A change of scenery…
We don’t want to jinx it, but it seems like winter is finally coming to an end. This makes it a perfect time to reinvigorate your songwriting. Staring at the same four walls all winter long, a sense of inertia is inevitable. Snap out of your writer’s block with a change of scenery. Take a brisk walk, visit a new coffee shop, join us for a class or come away with us on a Songwriting Getaway. Our full class schedule and upcoming getaway dates are listed below PLUS we have a big announcement for our St. John’s Getaway. Please note that many classes are selling out well in advance, so register early to avoid disappointment!
SONGWRITING FOR BEGINNERS
Develop your songwriting in a supportive and collaborative environment. Our next Beginner class will take place on Sunday, April 23rd. This class is designed for beginner and intermediate songwriting students – even if you don’t play an instrument!

MUSE OR MONSTER SONGWRITER SHOWCASE – APRIL 30TH!
We cannot wait for Muse or Monster V,taking place on Sunday, April 30th at Burdock Music Hall. The evening will feature some performers we’ve wanted to host for awhile including Lori Cullen, Mike Evin, Julian Taylor, & The Young Novelists. We will also showcase performances from TSS & Seneca students including Taylor Moore, Yvanne Dandan, Connor Duncan, Cory Feigan & Matthew Kelly. These nights are always very special. We hope to see you there!

ST. JOHN’S WORKSHOP GUEST MUSICIAN
We are thrilled to announce that the one and only Alan Doyle will kick off our St. John’s Getawaywith a Songwriting MasterClass. Best known as the lead singer for Newfoundland’s beloved band Great Big Sea, Alan Doyle is also an actor, producer and best selling author. He co-formed Great Big Sea in 1993 fusing traditional Celtic sounds with pop sensibilities. Their albums and DVDs went gold or platinum for a combined 1.2 million copies in their native Canada. He released his second solo album, So Let’s Go, in January 2015. With a reputation as one of North America’s most treasured musicians and storytellers, we are thrilled to have him with us before Alan Doyle & the Beautiful Gypsies take their energetic show on a summer tour of music festivals around the globe. ST. JOHN’s WORKSHOP GUEST MUSICIAN #2
Our final afternoon workshop will include a MasterClass by musician, writer and entrepreneur Bob Hallett. In addition to his role as a founding member of Great Big Sea, Bob has produced a number of albums for other Newfoundland traditional musicians and performed on countless albums. Most recently, he served as a music consultant on the Broadway musical “Come From Away.” In addition, he has become a leading music business manager for Newfoundland’s only full-time music management company. The Saturday-Only Pass will include a full day of workshops beginning at 11am. REGISTER.

We’re moving to a new location 10 minutes north of Oriilla for our Fall Getaway. This beautiful property (check out that photo!) includes a fire pit, creeks, and miles of hiking trails. Come be inspired in the town that launched Gordon Lightfoot’s legendary career.
Getaways include songwriting workshops and original song feedback, group sing-alongs, communal meals, and plenty of free time for you to write songs and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
